On May 13, 2023, the 11th international Issyk-Kul marathon of the SCO “Run the Silk Road-Shanghai Cooperation Organization” was held in the city of Cholpon-Ata.

The marathon was attended by the teaching staff headed by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the Ala-Too International University Kaldybaev Salidin Kadyrkulovich.

About 3,000 athletes and sports enthusiasts from 23 countries participated in the Run the Silk Road marathon. Leading athletes from Kazakhstan, Belarus, China, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Iran and Kyrgyzstan competed in it.

AIU lecturers and staff ran to the finish line, covering a distance of 21 km and raising the flag of our university!
